Timberlake Earth Sanctuary offers peaceful wedding lodging, outdoor ceremony sites, and reception spaces in Whitsett, North Carolina, near Greensboro and Burlington.

Timberlake South includes the Treehouse Wedding Suite, Woodlands ceremony site, Orchard, Gaia’s Garden, and Wedding Tent and Court, while Timberlake North offers the renovated Barn, Tent Village, fire circle, and additional overnight accommodations for destination-style wedding weekends. Together, these spaces give couples and guests a beautiful natural setting to gather, celebrate, stay overnight, and experience the beauty of our 165-acre forest sanctuary in the North Carolina Piedmont.

Timberlake’s lodging, ceremony sites, and reception spaces are especially well suited for couples who want more than a one-day venue rental. With overnight accommodations for forest weddings, outdoor gathering spaces, trails, fire circles, and peaceful places to rest, Timberlake gives couples and guests time to settle in, celebrate slowly, and experience the land together.

TIMBERLAKE SOUTH

TREEHOUSE AND WOODLANDS

Kitchen:  Includes all necessary dish ware and utensils, a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, microwave, coffee maker (and Keurig), island countertop, family sized table for meals, and a surround sound system.

Circle Room: Main floor circle gathering space. This is great for yoga, meditation, dancing, reading, writing, meetings, conversations…. There are a number of comfortable floor cushions available for use as well as folding chairs and personal tables.

Full Bathroom: Includes towels, bathtub and shower.

Bedroom: Upstairs there is a main bedroom with a double bed, which includes pillows, clean sheets, a feather comforter and towels. There is also a long cedar desk, two nightstands with drawers, and a clothing rack. Off the bedroom is a generous outdoor deck with two rocking chairs and a small table.  

Bunkbed Loft: On the highest level of the guesthouse there is a secret bedroom accessed by a pulldown ladder from the bedroom. There is one single bunkbed combo that comes with pillows,  sheets, comforters and a side table.

A generous and beautiful Wrap-Around Deck offers plenty of outdoor seating options. This is a great place to enjoy meals while taking in nature’s beauty and aromas.

Outside the TreeHouse is a Fire Pit, access to Trails and two beautiful Ponds just a short walk away.

The Woodlands Ceremony Site is tucked into the trees next to the Treehouse.  There is a platform with a unique rustic arbor on a wooden platform and handmade oak benches to seat up to 150 people.  The woodlands is a peaceful spot for wedding and educational gatherings, where the sounds of birds and rustling leaves surround you.

Event Tent & Court & Gaia’s Garden

Event Court & Tent: Our 40’x 60′ event tent- for up to 150 guests is equipped with electricity, string lights, atmospheric lighting, benches, a stone fire pit, and two restrooms.

Gaia’s Garden: A beautiful ceremonial garden with pond, rustic bridge, grape arbor along with colorful perennials and shrubs.

Garden Cabin:  A cozy hideaway with a futon, table, a wood stove, and a pair of Adirondack chairs on the deck.

Wooded Trails: Timberlake Earth Sanctuary has an extensive trail system.  The  Creeping Cedar, Wishing Rock, Moss Walk, Keyhole, Timberlake, or Peninsula trails take you through forests, past meadows, fields, ponds, and scenic overlooks.

Campfire Circles: Timberlake South has two main campfire circles, one at the Event tent and one at the Treehouse. Please ask and our staff will be happy to arrange a fire for your group. 

Sacred Sites: Gaia’s Garden, The Chapel, Marsh Bridge, Star Child Pool, Wishing Rock, Memorial Garden

TIMBERLAKE NORTH

BARN AND TENT VILLAGE

Timberlake North expands the wedding weekend experience with additional lodging, gathering space, and nature-immersive accommodations. This area is ideal for destination-style wedding weekends where family and friends can stay close, share meals, gather around the fire, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the land.

Barn: Our original haybarn and loft has been completely re-invented to include a large and cozy gathering space with comfortable furniture, throw pillows, piano and wood stove. A spacious kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils can accommodate up to 40 guests. A beautiful dining area and two offices with futons add to the Barn’s warmth and charm.

Upstairs, overlooking the sun-soaked field where the iconic Timberlake water tower stands, is a large open room where people can gather for talks, practice yoga or dance, or sit in meditation.

The Barn also has two bathrooms with showers and laundry facilities.

The electricity and air conditioning in our new facility are powered by the sun with an array of 48 solar panels producing clean, quiet, and completely renewable energy. The building is heated with propane.

TENT VILLAGE: For a unique nature immersion experience we invite you to stay in the Tent Village of Timberlake North. Set in a semi-circle around a large sone firepit, stand 13 Hestia Diamond Brand tents on 10′ x 14′ wooden platforms.  Each tent has two comfortable August beds. Sheets, towels, light-weight blankets, and pillows are provided.
